Overview

Tilt trend, vibration event and temperature context in one timestamp

SCST-WV02 combines a three-axis MEMS accelerometer, magnetometer, cellular communication, battery power and a sealed polyurethane housing. It reports routine long-term tilt changes, but can also wake on tilt or vibration events and capture high-frequency waveform features for structural health assessment.

How it works

A Low-Power Watch Mode with High-Frequency Event Capture

The sensor normally stays in a reduced-rate watch mode. When scheduled acquisition is due, or when tilt or vibration is detected, it switches to working mode, samples at high frequency and extracts vibration-domain features using FFT.

The same device supports slow structural-trend monitoring and fast event capture. FFT converts the vibration waveform into dominant frequency and amplitude, so alarms can be based on motion signatures rather than tilt alone.

From waveform to usable engineering indicators

For each acquisition period, SCST-WV02 can provide tilt, acceleration, vibration frequency, vibration amplitude, temperature, battery state and position metadata. The cloud platform then binds the data to measurement points, thresholds and project drawings.

FAQ

Field Questions, Straight Answers

How is SCST-WV02 different from a normal wireless tiltmeter?
A normal wireless tiltmeter focuses on slow tilt change. SCST-WV02 adds acceleration, vibration frequency, vibration amplitude and temperature, so it can capture sudden vibration events and provide context for whether a tilt change is structural or environmental.
When should I choose SCST-WV02 instead of the tiltmeter series page product?
Choose SCST-WV02 when vibration or impact matters: bridges under traffic, towers in wind, buildings near construction, slopes with block movement, or remote outdoor points where event-triggered reporting is valuable. For pure long-term low-frequency tilt, the standard tiltmeter series is usually enough.
How long does the battery last?
With the non-rechargeable Li-SOCl2 battery, operating life is up to 36 months at 4 acquisitions per day. The rechargeable lithium version runs up to 12 months. High-frequency event triggers, shorter reporting intervals and weak network coverage will shorten life.
Does it need sunlight or external power?
No. The battery-powered configuration is designed for sites without sunlight and without external power. If the rechargeable version is selected, USB-C charging is available at 5 V.
Which network should we choose: NB-IoT or 4G?
NB-IoT is usually preferred for low-power sparse reporting where coverage is stable. 4G is preferred when event data, denser uploads or broader operator coverage are more important. The network mode is selected before delivery.
Can it replace a professional vibration analyzer?
It is a structural monitoring sensor, not a lab vibration analyzer. Its strength is unattended long-term monitoring, triggered reporting and 0.1 Hz / 200 Hz vibration feature extraction at engineering points. For machinery diagnostics or very high-frequency vibration, use a dedicated vibration analyzer.
